Holiday homes are a large and growing part of Dubai’s tourism market, and guests now expect to check in on their own, at any hour. Dubai’s Keyless program sets out which smart locks are approved for this use. Here is what operators need to know.
What the Keyless program is
Keyless is a Dubai initiative, run with the Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA) and Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism, that approves smart-access products for use in holiday homes. Choosing an approved lock means the product has been reviewed under the program. The current approved list and requirements are published on keyless.ae, so always check there for the latest details.
Tedee GO, Tedee PRO and the Tedee Keypad PRO are on the approved list.
How self check-in works with a smart lock
- A booking arrives in your property management system.
- A unique access code is created automatically for that guest, valid only for their stay.
- The guest receives the code with their check-in details and opens the door with the keypad or app.
- The code expires at check-out. Cleaners and maintenance have their own codes, and every entry is logged.
Why PMS integration matters
Creating codes by hand does not scale beyond a few units. Tedee integrates with Guesty, Smoobu, Hostaway and every other platform it supports, so codes are created and removed with each booking and nobody on your team has to touch them.
Installing without changing the door
Many holiday homes are in buildings where owners or developers do not allow changes to the front door. Tedee fits on the existing cylinder on the inside of the door, with no new hardware outside and no damage, and can be removed when a unit leaves your portfolio.
Running locks across a portfolio
More than 100 holiday-home operators across Dubai run their portfolios on our system, covering over 3,000 homes. We supply, install and support the locks, keep stock in Dubai for fast replacements, and help operators roll out new units quickly. Get a quote for your portfolio.
